Job summary

SpaceX, headquartered in Washington, is seeking a Sr. Embedded Software Engineer for Laser Mesh Routing (Starlink) in Redmond.

You will develop real-time software to determine beam formation across a global satellite network and lead architecture reviews, prototypes, and deployment tooling. The role requires a BS in CS/Engineering/STEM with 5+ years (or 7+ years without a degree) and C/C++ expertise, plus experience with distributed systems and real-time computing.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM with 5+ years of software development experience; or 7+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Development experience in assembly, C, or C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop highly reliable, real-time software for beam formation and routing to optimize user experience.
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews; lead prototypes and experiments to validate concepts.
• Create tools for development, deployment, data analysis, and testing across virtualized and real hardware environments, including on-orbit testing.
