Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Embedded Software Development Engineer to define, build, and support the system design and software for Ring IoT products. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, design features, and contribute across the full software and systems development lifecycle.

You will dive into hardware/firmware interfaces, participate in design reviews, and drive improvements in agility and reliability.

Qualifications

3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Experience writing low level drivers.

Responsibilities

Dive deep to solve critical design issues involving algorithms and interfaces.
Participate in design reviews for embedded systems, simulations, and software.
Influence teams to develop technical implementations for system designs.
Identify and implement process improvements to improve agility (design, automation, testing, operations).
Define/refine system requirements and deliver interoperability features like health monitoring and diagnostics.
Develop embedded software in C/C++ in Linux and RTOS environments.
