Job summary

General Motors Corporation in Milford, Michigan is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to prototype and implement software for embedded controls across the full software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, and production release.

You will lead cross-functional teams and develop software for HWIO, BSW, complex drivers, SUMs, and other modules, ensuring consistency across GM-owned software. A hybrid work policy applies with in-office and remote days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Embedded Software Engineer.
• Experience with embedded software development and AUTOSAR infrastructure/firmware.
• Experience with configuration management (IBM Synergy) and debugging tools.
• Experience with automated testing and code quality metrics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug embedded C software for control systems.
• Lead cross-functional teams across HW/SW for infrastructure layers including HWIO, BSW, complex drivers, SUMs.
• Coordinate with Systems, Safety, Electrical Architecture, Cybersecurity, Software Defined Vehicle, Calibration and Vehicle Performance teams.
• Utilize automated test tools in build environments to verify functionality.
• Troubleshoot defects and drive software quality improvements.
