Requirements
Must have:
- We require U.S. citizenship and an active Department of Defense Secret clearance.
- We require a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- We require 6+ years of experience building applications on simulated and target hardware.
- We require hands-on experience with a real-time operating system such as Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, or a similar platform.
- We require strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include object-oriented design and implementation experience, along with exposure to software modeling and UML tools such as IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo.
- Preferred qualifications include experience developing device drivers and board support packages for real-time embedded systems.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with modern C++ techniques.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in information assurance and/or cryptography.
- Preferred qualifications include NSA Type 1 certification or other software certification experience such as DO-178.
Responsibilities
- We translate requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions for our C5 and Cyber Solution Centers.
- We provide subject matter expertise in embedded software application development and guide one or more software engineers.
- We investigate complex root causes and implement effective fixes, both independently and with cross-functional teams.
- We apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to develop software for target hardware.
- We collaborate with engineering partners to define hardware-software interfaces, operational needs, and overall system design.
- We contribute to every phase of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing.
- We create software test plans, procedures, and other technical documentation.
- We use modeling tools and equipment to gather operating data, run experiments, prototype solutions, and assess results.
- We participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and correct defects.
- We develop embedded real-time software primarily in C, C++, and Python.
