Requirements
Must have:
- We require an active Department of Defense Secret clearance.
- We look for a bachelors degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
- A graduate degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience is also acceptable.
- In lieu of a degree, we require at least 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- We expect 3 years of experience developing applications on simulated and target hardware.
- We require experience with a real-time operating system such as Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, or a similar platform.
- We value object-oriented design and implementation experience, including exposure to software modeling and UML tools such as IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo.
- Experience programming in Rust is preferred.
- We value experience developing device drivers and board support packages for real-time embedded systems.
- We value modern C++ development experience.
- We value experience in information assurance and/or cryptography.
- We value experience with NSA Type 1 certification or other software certifications such as DO-178.
- We expect excellent oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- We translate requirements into maintainable software solutions for our C5 and Cyber Solution Centers.
- We apply technical expertise across the software development lifecycle.
- We gather requirements and partner with stakeholders to prioritize and define task scope.
- We operate as a key member of a Scrum team and help shape product and infrastructure direction and strategy.
- We support engineering team members as a subject matter expert in embedded software application development.
- We guide and direct one or more software engineers as needed.
- We investigate the root cause of complex issues and implement effective fixes independently or with a multidisciplinary team.
- We apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis principles to develop software for target hardware.
- We collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define hardware-software interfaces, operational performance needs, and system design.
- We participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal testing.
- We develop software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
- We use modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, run experimental tests, prototype solutions, and evaluate outcomes.
- We take part in peer reviews and identify, track, and repair defects.
- We develop software primarily in C/C++ and Python for embedded real-time operating systems.
