Job summary

Emerson is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to build modern web experiences for Fisher's digital valve controllers and connected industrial devices. You will work at the intersection of web development and embedded systems, crafting responsive, efficient interfaces that help customers configure, monitor, diagnose, and optimize critical process control equipment.

You will develop diagnostic and monitoring capabilities, collaborate with firmware and hardware teams, and focus on robust security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software/Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with C/C++ in embedded contexts.
• Experience with embedded systems, RTOS, or Linux-based firmware.
• Experience with microcontrollers/IoT platforms and networking protocols.
• Proficiency in Node.js or Python for back-end work.
• Ability to troubleshoot across UI to device communication layers.
• Experience with automated testing, source control, build automation, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Develop modern web-based UIs for embedded devices and diagnostics dashboards.
• Collaborate with firmware and hardware engineers to design seamless interfaces.
• Optimize web apps for constrained environments and performance.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and WebSocket interfaces.
• Ensure robust security in front-end and communication layers.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in peer reviews.
• Contribute to testing, documentation, and deployment workflows for web and embedded environments.
