Job summary

Synstack Technologies in Endicott, NY seeks a Senior Software Engineer to advance low-level processor/SoC software for safety-critical avionics. You will work onsite in Endicott, NY on ARM-based, multicore, board-level interfaces with a strong emphasis on testing on target hardware and rigorous documentation.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded software, fluent C/C++, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of DO-178C and ARP4754 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field with embedded software background.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Experience testing on target hardware.
• Fluent in C/C++ with exposure to assembly language.
• Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to describe solutions and track progress.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute low-level processor/SoC software benchmarks and bring-up.
• Configure, enable, and develop SoC features (S32 family / LayerScape family et al.).
• Mitigate multi-core interference risks and ensure deterministic operation in safety-critical avionics.
• Develop bare-metal SMP MCP OS architectural framework and bootloader.
• Evaluate safety-critical compliance reports and DO-178C/DO-254 related activities.
• Develop/navigate novel communications protocols (TSN, PCIe, AFDX).
• Produce technical documentation detailing software architecture and design.
