Job summary

IS4S is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and test software for the R-EGI program, integrating GPS/GNSS, IMUs, and navigation inputs for military aviation. The role is hands-on, focusing on C/C++ on embedded Linux, hardware bring-up, and sensor integration with a team of systems, hardware, and test engineers.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in embedded software, strong C/C++ skills, and experience with device drivers and Git.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• 8+ years of embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong C and C++ for embedded/RT applications.
• Hands-on with embedded Linux, hardware bring-up, and device drivers.
• Experience with Git and cross-compilation toolchains.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded C/C++ software for navigation and interfaces.
• Develop on embedded Linux platforms and work with device drivers and OS services.
• Integrate GPS/GNSS, IMUs, and sensor fusion with estimation algorithms.
• Diagnose timing, sensor, and hardware integration issues in systems.
• Support hardware bring-up and software integration in lab environments.
• Create automated tests, diagnostics, and scripts to improve testing.
• Support simulations and hardware-in-the-loop testing for degraded GPS scenarios.
• Translate requirements into software designs and verification evidence.
• Participate in reviews, CM, defect resolution, and software releases.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist with program milestones.
