Job summary
Joby Aviation in Santa Cruz, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement DO-178C compliant embedded software for our electric aircraft. You will contribute to requirements, system design, and the development of robust, testable embedded C++ code for a fly-by-wire platform.

Qualifications
- University degree in computer science, computer engineering, robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or other STEM fields and 7+ years of industry experience.
- An advanced degree and 5+ yrs of industry experience will also be considered.
- Expert knowledge of C++ and object-oriented programming and methodology.
- Demonstrated understanding of hardware from an embedded software engineer's perspective.
- Experience with modern IDEs and debuggers.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded C++ software for the Joby aircraft.
- Collaborate with systems engineers and hardware designers to author requirements and integrate complex systems.
- Involved in all facets of software design and development for safety-critical aircraft projects.
