Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Clearwater, FL, is seeking an Advanced Software Engineer to design, develop, and test high-performance software for aerospace applications. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and operates on a hybrid schedule with 100% on-site for the first 90 days.

You will collaborate across teams to define software specs and ensure system performance, with emphasis on integration with hardware and DO-178 compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience (full life cycle)

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and testing of software solutions that enhance our aerospace products and services, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timeline.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software specifications and enhance system performance.
• Responsible for executing project subtasks in order to meet customer specifications.
• Conducts technical interchange of task level information (system requirements, specifications.) with team members and internal customers.
• Contribute with software documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and project reports.
• Ability to code in multiple languages (with object-oriented languages like e.g. C++)
