Our Client, a pioneering leader in aerospace technology, seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and test embedded software for safety-critical aerospace systems. You will work on real-time software, porting RTOS, and ensuring DO-178C compliance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven expertise in embedded software development, specifically in C and assembler.
  • Extensive experience in safety‑critical systems within the aerospace or similar sectors.
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS environments, preferably FreeRTOS or similar.
  • Strong understanding of hardware architecture, including ARM Cortex processors.
  • Familiarity with safety standards such as DO-178B/C and IEC 61508.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded software solutions for aerospace hardware platforms.
  • Port existing real-time operating systems to new processor architectures.
  • Write high-quality, optimised code in C and assembler for safety-critical systems.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation in line with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to meet project requirements.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation for design and testing processes.
  • Ensure all development aligns with relevant safety and quality standards such as DO-178C.
