Qualifications

You will define, design, develop, and implement embedded software solutions from concept through commercial release for complex electromechanical and power-conversion products. You will provide technical leadership across real-time firmware, low-level drivers, communications, and system integration while working with hardware, systems, manufacturing, and quality teams. You will also influence technical direction, mentor junior engineers, and ensure robust, maintainable, production-ready software.

You will join a leading United States manufacturer of advanced power quality and power conversion equipment, including harmonic filters, induction heating power supplies, dry-type transformers, and related technologies. The company serves industrial markets through products focused on efficiency and reliability. This is a full-time, on-site role in North Huntingdon, PA, USA.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design and develop real-time embedded software for microcontroller- and DSP-based power conversion systems.
• Perform verification testing for embedded software used in power conversion applications.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure software compatibility and performance.
• Lead embedded code integration and debugging activities.
• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and software validation procedures.
• Maintain embedded software system documentation for internal and external use.

Key requirements / What we look for

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Six or more years of experience in the electrical industry, industrial markets, transformers, power quality, or related magnetic products.
• Thorough understanding of embedded systems and microcontroller architectures.
• Proficiency in C, C++, or Python.
• Knowledge of SPI, I2C, USB, UART, and other communication interfaces.
• Familiarity with version management, software development, and debugging tools.
• Experience with real-time control systems and theory is highly preferred.
• Customer-focused approach with a record of building lasting relationships.
• Strong coordination and deadline-management skills across multiple concurrent projects.
• Ability to lead projects while contributing effectively as a team member.
• Experience translating market research into strategies for targeted segments.
