Job summary

NR Consulting in Hauppauge, NY seeks a senior embedded software engineer with 5+ years of experience in regulated environments (aerospace/industrial) to lead embedded development efforts.

You will design and verify embedded software in C, collaborate with hardware and systems teams, and manage projects with a 25% management / 75% development split. Experience with DO-178/ISO 26262 is preferred.

Job Summary:

Seeking a senior embedded software engineer with 5+ years of experience developing embedded software in regulated environments, preferably aerospace or industrial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and verify embedded software using C and/or SCADE.
• Develop requirements, design, coding, integration, and testing.
• Perform software verification, traceability, and certification activities.
• Work with hardware and systems teams on embedded control systems.
• Lead projects from start to finish, managing execution and development (25% project management / 75% development).

Requirements:

• Strong C programming and microcontroller experience.
• Experience with regulated software standards such as DO-178, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, EN 50128, or IEC 62304.
• Project leadership experience.
• BS in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Aerospace/industrial embedded experience preferred.
• Experience with SCADE, DOORS/DNG, ARM, CANbus/ARINC/RS-232 is a plus.
