Job summary

CesiumAstro in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead embedded software efforts and define architectures for multiple products. This role will drive engineering methodologies and tackle complex hardware-software integration challenges.

You will collaborate with software, electrical, systems, hardware, quality, and test teams while guiding design reviews, optimizing real-time performance, and providing post-production support.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of industry software development experience.
• Hands-on embedded hardware development and troubleshooting; API design for interfacing with FPGAs.
• Extensive C/C++ programming experience; real-time Linux is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software for embedded devices and systems from requirements to deployment.
• Review code and system designs; ensure efficiency, stability, and scalability.
• Analyze and optimize I/O performance and interfaces with hardware.
• Provide post-production/in-orbit customer support and interface with hardware teams.
