CesiumAstro in Westminster, Colorado seeks a Principal Embedded Software Engineer II to lead embedded SATCOM software from concept to in-orbit support. You will design and implement software for Linux-based SBCs and high-reliability microcontroller systems, driving from requirements through production and customer delivery.

The role requires deep C/C++ know-how, RTOS experience, real-time Linux desirable, and strong communication.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
Minimum 11 years of industry software development experience.
Hands-on embedded hardware development and debugging; API design for interfacing with FPGAs.
Strong C and object-oriented programming (preferably C++).
Experience with preemptive, multitasking RTOS; real-time Linux desirable.
Familiarity with CM tools, defect tracking, and peer reviews.
Knowledge of real-time coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems.
Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Design and implement software for embedded devices from requirements to production and deployment.
Develop, test, debug, and document system software.
Review code and system designs.
Analyze code for efficiency, stability, and scalability.
Integrate and validate new product designs.
Support software QA and optimize I/O performance.
Provide post-production/in-orbit customer support.
Interface with hardware design and development engineers.
Assess third party and open source software.
