Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX seeks a Principal Embedded Software Engineer II to serve as the technical authority for embedded software. You will define architectures, advance engineering methods, and drive hardware-software integration across products and programs.

Collaborate with software, electrical, systems, and hardware teams; mentor engineers; champion quality, performance, and on-time delivery of next-generation embedded software technologies.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS/EE/CE required.
• 15+ years of engineering experience.
• Mastery of embedded software and SDLC.
• Expertise in C/C++, Python, and debugging tools.
• RTOS experience; real-time Linux desirable.
• Strong knowledge of hardware interfaces and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Define embedded software architectures and standards.
• Develop firmware frameworks, real-time apps, and drivers.
• Lead complex embedded engineering initiatives across programs.
• Oversee verification, validation, and integration activities.
• Improve software quality, reliability, and performance.
• Mentor engineers and guide technical direction.
• Advise leadership and teams on architectures and new tech.
