Job summary

L3Harris in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Senior Specialist, Software Engineering to design, develop and test embedded real-time software for military communications applications. You will contribute across the lifecycle, collaborate with a cross-functional team, and mentor junior engineers while supporting winning proposals and SOW-based work.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE (or graduate degree) with extensive embedded software experience, including RTOS, on-site

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of related experience; a Graduate Degree with at least 4 years; or 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Proficient with object oriented C++.
Experience in embedded systems design, including use of an RTOS.

Responsibilities

Contribute to lifecycle of embedded real-time systems by designing, coding, testing, debugging, and updating developmental and fielded systems.
Maintain and review requirements, design documentation and source code
Collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team
Contributes to the development of technical responses to RFPs with effort estimation and risk analysis
Work mostly autonomously and mentor junior engineers
Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance is required for this job posting
