Job summary

Kepler Communications is seeking a top-tier Flight Software Engineer for a 6+ month contract to develop and maintain flight and embedded Linux software for space and ground assets across a growing spacecraft fleet.

You will influence system design and operation, owning embedded Linux build environments and interfaces with ground software, and collaborating across electrical, ground, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of embedded development experience in Aerospace or related industry.
• Strong software design, architecture, and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded Linux software for space-ground systems.
• Develop flight software for spacecraft command, telemetry, fault detection, and recovery.
• Maintain build environments using OpenEmbedded/Yocto.
• Create interfaces with ground software using HTTP APIs, ZeroMQ, and Protocol Buffers.
• Write tests and documentation; participate in design and code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to system architecture decisions.
