Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer II to design and deliver embedded software for space and airborne platforms. The role focuses on Linux/Yocto driven development, device drivers, kernel modifications, and boot loaders with preference for Xilinx platforms.

You will drive software designs from concept to in-orbit support and contribute across microcontrollers, BSPs, and UIs. You will present design reviews, engage in proposal writing, and collaborate with cross-functional

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of industry software development experience.
• Hands-on development and troubleshooting of software systems and hardware equipment.
• Proficiency in C or C++ programming.
• Familiarity with software configuration management and defect tracking tools.
• Strong understanding of multi-threaded applications and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and port embedded Linux applications, custom device drivers, and libraries.
• Configure, modify, and integrate the Linux kernel and embedded boot loaders.
• Work with U-Boot and Linux kernel configuration.
• Maintain and support the Yocto build system in CI/CD.
• Package and deploy software images for multiple hardware platforms.
• Create and manage Linux images tailored to embedded hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and performance.
