Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer in Houston to design and optimize low-level kernel drivers and DMA platforms for FPGA interfaces. You will work closely with hardware teams on SoC architectures to deliver high-performance edge computing solutions.

This role requires strong C skills and extensive kernel development experience. You will develop embedded networking stacks for constrained devices, perform kernel debugging, participate in tests, and contribute

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded Linux software experience in production environments.
• Expertise in C programming and Linux kernel driver development.
• Experience designing DMA platform drivers and SoC interfaces (AXI/AHB/APB).
• Strong embedded networking knowledge (TCP/IP, UDP) for edge/IoT devices.
• Experience with device trees, HALs, and hardware/software integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Linux-based DMA platform drivers for FPGA interfaces.
• Architect and optimize low-level kernel drivers interfacing with FPGA hardware.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize performance per SoC constraints.
• Develop embedded networking stacks for resource-constrained platforms.
• Create tests, benchmarks, and documentation for driver APIs and architectures.
• Contribute to upstream kernel work and internal patches.
