Job summary

Sharper Sense in Newark, NJ is seeking a Senior Electrical Product Engineer to own embedded hardware and firmware for our wearable neurostimulation products. The role covers design, debug, testing, and manufacturing transfer of embedded systems and integrated mechanical components.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree and 5+ years in embedded development, with strong PCB design, embedded C/C++, and experience taking prototypes into manufacturing. Hybrid work is available in Newark.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field, equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years hands-on embedded systems or physical product development.
• Strong circuit/PCB design, MCUs, embedded C/C++, power, debugging.
• Experience transferring prototypes to production and working with suppliers.
• Ability to make tradeoffs across electronics, firmware, mechanics, cost, and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Own embedded hardware and firmware projects from design through testing and production release.
• Design, bring up, debug circuits, PCBs, microcontrollers, power, and interfaces.
• Integrate electronics with flex circuits, batteries, enclosures, and packaging.
• Resolve tradeoffs across performance, size, life, cost, and manufacturability.
• Transfer prototypes to production with DFM, docs, programming, and testing.
• Collaborate with suppliers/CMs to resolve first-article and production issues.
• Develop reproducible tests and verify corrective actions.
• Review and mentor engineers while maintaining documentation and revision control.
