Job summary

Generac Power Systems seeks a Staff Hardware Engineer to lead architecture, design, integration, verification, and lifecycle support for embedded hardware across products.

You will drive DFMEA, define requirements, mentor engineers, and collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions with strong EMI and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Seven (7)+ years of experience designing analog and digital electronic systems and leading complex product programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, integration, verification, and validation of embedded hardware across new product development.
• Define system/hardware requirements and acceptance criteria with traceability through the lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership for programs involving multiple subsystems to meet quality, performance, schedule and cost goals.
• Lead hardware design with microprocessors, microcontrollers, analog/digital circuitry, interfaces, and power electronics.
• Drive design reviews, DFMEA/FMEA, risk assessments, and root-cause investigations for complex issues.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, sourcing, and operations teams to optimize performance and cost.
• Serve as hardware architecture authority for EMC, regulatory compliance, and engineering standards; mentor engineers.
• Advance engineering effectiveness via testing strategies and evaluation of emerging technologies.
