Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to join our Hardware team, translating autonomy requirements into robust electronic systems for embodied AI platforms.

You will own board-level design, bring-up, and validation, collaborating with software, systems, and mechanical teams to deliver high-performance compute platforms for autonomous driving applications in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in electronics or embedded systems design.
• Board-level design, bring-up and debugging expertise.
• Deep understanding of embedded systems and compute architectures.
• Experience with high-speed digital interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, USB).
• Strong debugging skills across hardware and software systems.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and embedded environments.
• Proficiency in C, C++ or Python.
• Ability to architect and analyze complex systems.
• Strong communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded electronics systems for autonomous driving.
• Architect and implement compute platforms for ML workloads.
• Collaborate with software and autonomy teams to optimize hardware performance.
• Own board-level design, bring-up, validation and debugging across boundaries.
• Develop high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, USB) in automotive settings.
• Work with mechanical engineering to ensure robust electronics hardware.
• Lead schematic design and PCB layout reviews and signal integrity checks.
• Create hardware design documentation and product specifications.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners for production readiness.
