Job summary

Thales in Irvine, CA seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to be the technical authority for IFEC head-end hardware from concept to production. You’ll lead embedded digital/analog design, high-speed interfaces, and mixed-signal systems, collaborating with PCB, Mechanical, Software, and Systems teams.

You will validate and document designs, ensure traceability to requirements, mentor engineers, and drive cost- and schedule-aware execution across the full product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in advanced embedded hardware design.
• Expertise in high-speed data transmission and mixed-signal systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design from concept to production for IFEC LRU products.
• Steer cross-functional hardware teams across PCB, Mechanical, Software, Systems.
• Drive validation, tests, and documentation with full traceability.
• Interface with customers and suppliers, mitigating risks and issues.
• Contribute to roadmaps, standards, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor engineers and support milestone reviews with metrics.
