Job summary

Quest Defense seeks a Senior Embedded Graphics Software Engineer in Phoenix, AZ to develop and sustain graphics software for avionics displays. You will implement graphics drivers, middleware, and OpenGL-based solutions on embedded platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize performance in safety-critical environments.

Applicants should have 10+ years in embedded graphics, C/C++, and RTOS like DEOS; U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 10+ years in embedded/safety-critical systems.
• Strong experience with OpenGL-based embedded graphics software and drivers.
• Proficient in C/C++ in RTOS environments and safety-critical aerospace contexts.
• Experience with graphics performance tuning and legacy display modernization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain graphics drivers and embedded graphics software for avionics displays.
• Modernize legacy graphics software and display technologies for aerospace safety-critical applications.
• Develop and optimize OpenGL-based solutions for embedded RTOS environments.
• Collaborate across platform, systems, and hardware teams to optimize GPU/CPU interaction.
• Analyze and improve graphics performance on multicore processors.
• Investigate memory/cache performance issues and improve system throughput.
• Support integration, verification, debugging, and testing throughout the lifecycle.
• Participate in architecture reviews and graphics technology evaluations.
• Create technical documentation and engineering artifacts for certification.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in embedded graphics.
