Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop software for our satellite bus avionics. You will own software from design to flight, collaborating with avionics, GNC, propulsion, and hardware teams to deliver mission-critical code that runs on custom hardware.

Qualifications

• 3+ years writing C/C++ for embedded systems, ideally on spacecraft or hardware.
• Experience developing firmware for microcontrollers, bare-metal or RTOS.
• Experience writing and debugging low-level device drivers over SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, CAN.
• Comfort with hardware/software integration and reading schematics with test tooling.
• Solid understanding of microcontroller/microprocessor memory, buses, DMA.

Responsibilities

• Develop the low level software that configures and drives processor peripherals and interfaces.
• Write and debug device drivers for sensors, actuators, and components across the bus.
• Implement onboard algorithms including closed loop control and fault handling.
• Write quick iterative code for bench and development testing and rigorous flight-grade code.
• Provide embedded software input into new system and hardware designs.
• Support commissioning of spacecraft during launch and early operations.
