IST Precision Inc. is seeking a firmware engineer to join our Mooresville, NC team. This hands-on role focuses on deterministic real-time embedded code and application-level software for precision instruments, sensors, and automation systems.

You will design, debug, and test firmware on ARM/Multi-core SoCs, collaborating across electronics, mechanical, and software groups. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in embedded firmware, C++ proficiency, and experience with RTOS, debugging, and hardware

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years embedded firmware for real-time systems.
Proficient in C++ for embedded environments.
RTOS with multi-threading, interrupts, memory analysis, debugging.
Firmware for ARM MCUs with SPI/I2C/UART, DMA and GPIO.

Responsabilités

Develop and maintain firmware for ARM-based microcontrollers and AMD/Xilinx SoCs.
Implement embedded code for data acquisition, real-time control, and high-speed interfaces.
Design signal processing and control algorithms (FIR/IIR, PI/PID).
Implement high-speed inter-processor communication protocols.
Collaborate with electronics, mechanical, and software teams to integrate systems.
Work under the guidance of a Principal Software Engineer on architecture and reviews.
Design firmware for reliability and maintainability.
Python and C#/.NET experience is a plus.
