Job summary

Garrett is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to design and optimize software for ARM-based products in a Texas facility. The candidate will work with non-RTOS and RTOS environments, implementing drivers and USB/wireless interfaces while coordinating with hardware engineers.

The role requires at least 7 years in embedded software, a Bachelor’s degree, and hands-on experience with DSP algorithms, Bluetooth, and Git/Bitbucket for source control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of embedded software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware.
• Design for non-RTOS, state machine-based systems.
• Develop with RTOS such as FreeRTOS and ARM Cortex processors.
• Implement device drivers to communicate with off-chip peripherals and interfaces.
• Integrate USB and Wireless protocols, and test with debugging tools.
