Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to design, implement, and integrate firmware with hardware across products. This role operates in a global, cross-functional team to achieve performance targets and quality standards.

You will own core software lifecycle activities from requirements to unit testing, collaborating with hardware engineers on MCU selection, schematics, and PCB bring-up.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical/electronics/computer/mechatronics engineering or related field
• 5+ years of professional embedded software/firmware experience
• Proficient in C for resource-constrained embedded systems

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into software specifications and firmware implementations
• Develop software and firmware in C, C++, and JavaScript
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on MCU selection, schematics, and PCB bring-up
• Lead code reviews, establish firmware best practices, mentor junior engineers
• Troubleshoot hardware with basic electronics skills including oscilloscopes and DMMs
