NEOTECH is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer in Naperville, IL to design, implement, and maintain firmware for embedded systems used in our products.

You will work with hardware, software, and systems engineers to build high-performance firmware from concept through production, writing efficient C/C++ code and developing drivers for peripherals. Collaboration and documentation are essential to success.

Qualifications

  • Experience programming in C/C++ for real-time embedded systems.
  • Design and implement firmware for microcontrollers.
  • Develop drivers for SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, ADC, and GPIO.
  • Collaborate with hardware and system engineers on board bring-up.
  • Optimize firmware for performance, memory, and power.
  • Familiarity with RTOS concepts and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers and processors.
  • Write efficient, reliable C/C++ code for real-time systems.
  • Develop and optimize drivers for peripherals (SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, ADC, GPIO).
  • Work with hardware engineers to bring up boards and troubleshoot issues.
  • Create and maintain firmware documentation and guidelines.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Embedded Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and maintain firmware for embedded systems used in our products. You will work closely with hardware, software, and systems engineers to build reliable, high-performance embedded solutions from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers and embedded processors
  • Write efficient, reliable code in C/C++ for real-time systems
  • Develop drivers for peripherals such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, ADC, and GPIO
  • Work with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and debug system issues
  • Optimize firmware for performance, memory usage, and power consumption
  • Implement and maintain RTOS-based systems when required
  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and testing
  • Create documentation for firmware architecture and features
  • Support product testing, validation, and production releases
