Job summary

Heron Power is seeking a Senior/Staff Embedded Software Engineer to drive the embedded firmware platform, define the device operating model, and deliver high-impact firmware across power conversion products. You will work with firmware, controls, and cloud teams to shape architecture, bootloaders, diagnostics, safety infrastructure, and production processes.

Qualifications

5+ years of embedded firmware development with shipped product.
Expert-level embedded C/C++ understanding.
Deep experience with RTOS, bootloaders, and low-level hardware drivers.
Experience working within large embedded system architectures.
Familiarity with firmware CI/CD and automated testing frameworks.
Strong hardware debugging skills (oscilloscope, logic analyzer).
Collaborative mindset and interest in growing other engineers.

Responsibilities

Architect embedded firmware across Heron products and drive architecture decisions.
Participate in design reviews, identify systemic risks, and establish coding standards.
Mentor other embedded engineers and collaborate across firmware and hardware boundaries on system-level decisions.
Develop RTOS-based firmware, low-latency control infrastructure, and key drivers/peripherals (PWM, ADC, comms).
Evaluate MCUs/SoCs for new platforms and build safety-critical firmware.
Design bootloaders and update mechanisms; implement on-device logging/diagnostics.
