Job summary

Sigma Connectivity Poland is seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer to join a project building a battery-powered medical measurement device with secure cloud data transmission. The role emphasizes embedded system architecture, firmware integration, connectivity, and lab readiness for testing.

You will own key areas of embedded software, including cybersecurity, Secure Boot, and USB/BLE communication, while enabling continuous measurement synchronization between devices and cloud.

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded systems with RTOS.
• Experience with regulated embedded devices or medical devices is a plus.
• Ability to prepare embedded firmware for laboratory and product testing.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Engineer to join a project focused on the development of a medical measurement device. The product is a battery-powered connected device designed to provide continuous measurements and securely transmit data to the cloud. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on embedded system architecture, firmware integration, connectivity, cybersecurity and product readiness for laboratory testing.

Your responsibilities

You will take ownership of key areas of the embedded software development, including:

• Designing and further developing the embedded system architecture
• Integrating firmware components and stabilizing the overall system
• Implementing and strengthening embedded cybersecurity
• Implementing Secure Boot
• Developing firmware upgrade over USB
• Implementing BLE communication between devices
• Developing synchronization between two devices to ensure continuous measurement data is available to the cloud while one device is charging
• Implementing USB High-Speed / MTP communication with a mobile application
• Supporting LEDs and vibration motor functionality
• Preparing and stabilizing the firmware for laboratory testing of the medical device
• Using modern AI-assisted development tools and coding agents as part of the engineering workflow

What we are looking for

Ideally, you have experience with:

• Embedded system architecture and RTOS-based development
• NXP MCX N Series microcontrollers or similar MCU platforms
• Eclipse ThreadXBLE implementation and integration
• USB device development, including High-Speed USB
• USB firmware upgrade mechanisms
• Embedded cybersecurity and Secure Boot
• Firmware integration, debugging and system stabilization
• Preparing embedded firmware for laboratory and product testing
• Hardware bring-up and debugging using SWD
• Working with connectivity modules and communication interfaces such as UART and USB
• AI-assisted software development using tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
