Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications in Tampa, FL is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer (clearance required) to help architect and certify high-assurance cryptographic systems. You will develop security-critical software in C and Rust, modernize legacy baselines, and contribute to NSA High Assurance certification activities.

You’ll work in a high-performance team on cryptographic information assurance software, memory-safe transitions from C to Rust, and secure boot/trust architectures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years embedded software development experience in C and Rust.
• Experience with ARM-based processors and low-level embedded debugging.
• Knowledge of memory management, concurrency, and deterministic embedded behavior.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software in C and Rust for cryptographic/security-critical platforms.
• Architect cryptographic IA software with security boundaries and trusted services.
• Perform trade studies and architecture design with memory-safe approaches.
• Support NSA High Assurance certification process with requirements, architecture, and artifacts.
• Develop and maintain SHRS/IRS, ICDs, and SHDD documentation.
• Create unit/integration/acceptance tests including hardware-in-the-loop tests.
