Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to architect, implement, and certify high‑assurance cryptographic systems used by DoD, NATO, and allies. You will work on secure embedded software and firmware meeting NSA High Assurance certification requirements.

Role involves Rust adoption in constrained environments, formal certification artifacts, and fielded systems protecting tactical networks. Travel ~5% for events and off-site integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience in C and/or Rust.
• Experience with low-level embedded development and debugging, ARM-based processors and SoC platforms.
• Strong understanding of memory management, concurrency, and deterministic embedded behavior.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software in C and Rust for cryptographic platforms.
• Architect cryptographic information assurance software and systems.
• Perform trade studies and embedded architecture design with memory-safe approaches.
• Support NSA High Assurance certification processes with documentation and evidence.
• Develop and execute unit testing, integration, and acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with systems and hardware engineers in a high-performance team.
