Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior firmware engineer to lead embedded software development for hardware-driven products. You will craft firmware for embedded systems, drive CI/CD improvements, and guide cross-functional teams including hardware, QA, product, and cloud engineering.

Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, collaborating on API design and microservices, and ensuring robust, secure cloud-hosted solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level degree or equivalent in a technical field.
7+ years of embedded software/firmware experience.
Strong in C/C++ with production firmware experience.
Hands-on embedded Linux development experience.
Familiarity with Yocto to build and maintain distributions.
Experience with hardware/software integration and device drivers.
Experience with CI/CD and automated builds.
Ability to diagnose complex issues and provide sustainable solutions.
Cross-functional collaboration across hardware, software, QA, product and cloud teams.
Mentor engineers and promote best practices.

Responsibilities

Develop firmware for hardware-based products and IoT devices.
Collaborate with PES, mobile, QA, and cloud teams for integration.
Mentor junior engineers and support onboarding of new engineers.
Drive CI/CD pipeline improvements and firmware standardization.
Refine and estimate deliverables with engineering, product, and UX teams.
Design and implement APIs, backend services, front-end components, and automation tasks.
Build scalable cloud-hosted applications with strong security features.
Architect self-contained microservices or APIs using CMS and design patterns.
Define product and technical requirements with cross-functional teams.
Drive code health, testing, and maintainability, and troubleshoot performance issues.
