Job summary

Latitude AI, a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for the Sensor firmware team. You will develop embedded software for sensing systems (Lidar, Radar, IMU) in a safety-critical context, using C++ and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will mentor colleagues, review designs, and ensure high-quality, efficient code running on multi-processor SoCs and RTOS/Embedded Linux environments. California base salary applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related field; 7+ years of relevant experience (or 5+/2+ with advanced degrees).
• Strong experience developing embedded applications and systems using C++.
• Proficient in network concepts, protocols and configurations.
• Strong software design, algorithms, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with multi-processor SoCs or similar embedded processors.
• Familiarity with RTOS (FreeRTOS) and Embedded Linux.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and efficient embedded software for Radar, Lidar and IMU sensors.
• Collaborate with Software Architect to implement high-quality, maintainable C++ code.
• Mentor junior team members on technical design and participate in code reviews.
• Design, implement and test high-performance C++ in resource-constrained environments.
• Work with hardware and systems engineers to ensure product success.
