Job summary

Latitude AI is seeking a senior sensor engineer to lead radar or lidar system development from concept through production. You will define performance targets, drive supplier engagement, and collaborate with systems, perception, firmware, and vehicle integration teams to ensure robust sensor solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field.
• 8+ years of automotive sensing experience with deep hands-on expertise in radar or lidar.
• Strong first-principles understanding of radar or lidar concepts and regression testing.
• Advanced Python for parse logs, evaluate sensor performance, and build repeatable analysis workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical development of radar or lidar sensing systems from concept to production launch.
• Define sensor targets, requirements, evaluation criteria, and validation plans.
• Drive benchmarking and down-selection across suppliers and technologies.
• Lead supplier engagement, including reviews, data reviews, and design maturity assessments.
• Guide architecture decisions related to sensing performance, packaging, and cost.
• Collaborate with systems, perception, firmware, validation, and manufacturing teams.
• Review test data, identify gaps, determine root cause, and drive corrective actions.
• Assess supplier evidence for credibility and alignment with physics and requirements.
• Lead technical reviews and challenge unsupported claims and conclusions.
• Establish plans, milestones, risks, and mitigations for sensor programs.
