Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly skilled Software Design & Release Engineer to join our Power Supply & Energy Management group. You will design, develop, integrate, test, and release embedded software for BMS LIN Sensor components within Ford's 12V/48V energy systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to deliver robust sensor software that meets ASPICE, ISO 26262, and cybersecurity standards, while aligning with program milestones and quality gates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of embedded software development experience in automotive.
• Strong familiarity with ASPICE and ISO 26262 processes and concepts.
• 3+ years’ experience with LIN and automotive network management.
• Experience working with automotive suppliers on software projects.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles applied to automotive embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and release of embedded software for BMS LIN Sensor components and collaborate with external suppliers.
• Translate functional, diagnostic, cybersecurity, safety, and quality requirements into software specifications.
• Interface between Ford and supplier engineering teams on software topics.
• Review supplier software designs, architectures, test plans, and validation reports for Ford standards (ASPICE, ISO 26262).
• Monitor progress, KPIs, and deliverables to meet program timelines and quality gates.
• Facilitate RCA and corrective actions for LIN/sensor issues across the lifecycle.
• Ensure rigorous software validation and vehicle-level integration testing.
• Support vehicle integration and testing, diagnosing network-related issues.
