Service Corporation International in Whittier, CA seeks an Embalmer II with at least five years as a licensed Embalmer. The role demands leadership in the preparation room, mentorship for staff, and ensuring the highest quality standards.

A rotating 4 on/4 off schedule applies, with flexibility to meet department needs. Requires CA Embalmer’s License and a valid CA driver’s license; Funeral Directors license is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least five (5) years’ experience as a licensed Embalmer.
• Funeral Directors license preferred.
• CA Embalmer’s License required; valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead embalming operations and ensure professional preparation to the highest standards.
• Provide hands-on mentorship to all embalming staff and apprentices.
• Develop SOPs and training modules for the mortuary/QC team on an ongoing basis.
• Maintain rigorous quality control and conduct post‑procedure reviews.
• Oversee removals, case management, and compliance with regulations.
