Job summary

Rose Hills in Whittier, CA, is seeking an experienced embalmer to oversee overnight mortuary operations, including embalming, preparation, and cosme tics, while leading overnight staff. The role involves dispatch oversight, quality control, and regulatory compliance on a 40-hour, 5-day week with alternating schedules.

The candidate should have 5+ years as a licensed embalmer and removal/transport experience, a CA Embalmer's license, and a valid CA driver's license.

Qualifications

• Licensed embalmer with at least 5 years of experience.
• Removal/transport driver experience required.
• CA Embalmer's License required.
• California Driver's License with clean record.
• Proficient with mortuary software (HMIS) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overnight embalming, dressing, cosmetics, and casketing for viewing or disposition.
• Lead complex/reconstructive cases and ensure strict safety and quality controls.
• Manage overnight preparation room inventory and safety protocols.
• Coordinate overnight dispatch, arrivals, and interdepartmental handoffs with daytime staff.
