Job summary

Fresh Consulting in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician to advance our hardware and electronics capabilities in a fast-paced R&D environment.

You will build, test, and troubleshoot cable harnesses and PCBs, perform SMT and through-hole soldering, document results, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards while coordinating with engineering teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on electronics testing, assembly, and rework in R&D or production.
• Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and datasheets.
• Proficiency in fine-pitch SMT and through-hole soldering (IPC J-STD-001).
• Experience building wire harnesses to IPC-620 or equivalent.
• Skilled at diagnosing electronic failures using standard test equipment.
• Understanding of product lifecycles, reliability, and compliance testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and modify cable and wire harnesses, including crimping and routing wires.
• Perform PCB rework and assembly, including SMT and through-hole soldering and conformal coating.
• Execute test plans using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
• Troubleshoot electronic assemblies to component level and perform repairs.
• Document test data, rework, assembly details, and failure modes.
• Maintain lab cleanliness, safety, and equipment calibration.
