Job summary

Fresh Consulting is seeking an Electrical Test Technician for a long-term contract in the United States. The role involves setting up, running, and analyzing test experiments, building test harnesses, and updating systems for automation and coverage.

Strong experience in electronics testing and documentation is required. Preferred candidates have knowledge of IPC standards, high-voltage testing, and calibration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electronics testing experience in an R&D environment.
• Ability to read electrical system and component schematics.
• Familiarity with product development life cycles, reliability testing, and compliance testing.
• Familiarity with test equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, data acquisition systems, and measurement sensors.
• Strong root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to quickly switch between and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run, and analyze test experiments following test procedures, and record results in test records
• Build test harnesses, racks, and environmental setups
• Update existing test systems to improve automation, consistency, and coverage based on engineering direction
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronics, and integrated circuits down to the component level
• Maintain and calibrate electrical and/or mechanical test equipment
• Create assembly instructions and bills of materials for test equipment and fixtures
• Document test plans, user instructions, and manuals
• Keep the work environment clean and safe
• Travel to test sites and external laboratories as needed

Title: Electrical Test Technician
Duration: Long term contract
Location: Costa Mesa, CA

Role:

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years of electronics testing experience
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, or mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related field
• Familiarity with IPC quality and assembly/inspection standards (IPC-610, IPC-620, J-STD)
• Experience with high-voltage and high-power testing, such as propulsion inverters and batteries
• Experience with equipment calibration and metrology
• Experience with electrical compliance testing, such as EMI/EMC

Education: Associate degree in electrical/electronics, computer, or mechanical technologies, or a related field

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range is $37.02 to $49.04 USD per hour.
