Job summary

KOSTAL is seeking a detail-oriented electronics professional in New York to support design, assembly, testing, and repair of electronic products and prototypes. The role requires strong soldering experience, the ability to manage multiple projects, and collaboration with engineers and interns.

Responsibilities include designing, assembling, testing, and diagnosing electronics, assisting with new designs, sourcing parts, and maintaining test fixtures and a clean lab environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated soldering and desoldering of through-hole, SMT, wire harness, and microprocessor components.
• Strong trouble-shooting, repair, and testing of electronic and electromechanical devices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain lab cleanliness, procedures, and effective communication.
• Ability to train junior technicians in soldering/desoldering techniques.
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support design, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronics for products and prototypes.
• Perform advanced soldering and desoldering on diverse components.
• Troubleshoot embedded systems and diagnose issues efficiently.
• Coordinate interns and manage multiple assignments and priorities.
• Assist engineers with development and implementation of new designs.
• Source, order parts, and maintain inventory for test fixtures and repairs.
• Test units and analyze results; ensure lab safety and organization.
