Job summary

Boston Scientific seeks a Strategic Sourcing Specialist III to develop and execute sourcing strategies that reduce total costs, enhance supplier value, and secure a competitive edge in direct electronics sourcing. You will partner with Supplier Quality and Supplier Engineering to ensure quality and savings.

You’ll identify suppliers, manage relationships, and drive VIP programs to optimize TCO while aligning with cross-functional stakeholders on budget and development milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business or a related field.
• Minimum 2 yrs of direct sourcing experience and supplier relationship management.
• Experience with MS Excel and other applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, MS Project etc.).
• Ability to travel globally up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Gathering market intelligence and trends for the electronics category and sub-categories
• Identifying all suitable suppliers to develop comprehensive knowledge and supplier database
• Guiding respective internal leads through a holistic and systematic category approach to material and supplier selection and management; identify insourcing and outsourcing opportunities
• Managing strategic supplier relationships according to the category strategy and strategic differentiators for each supplier
• Analyzing data and developing cost modeling tools (i.e. should-cost, COGS, etc.) to manage category
• Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate issues and supplier-related risks
• Working with suppliers to promote continuous value improvement for quality, service, and cost
• Managing supplier performance and identifying Value Improvement Programs (VIP) to improve the total cost of ownership (TCO)
• Establishing an optimal balance between collaborative engagement and competitive pressure with supply base to ensure the maximum value is realized, including negotiations on supplier contracts and value improvements
• Supporting the annual budget process for assigned suppliers and resolving systematic issues
• Establishing early involvement to achieve development performance goals, support project timelines, and manage product cost
