Job summary

Musco is seeking a Senior Technical Repair Specialist for the Oskaloosa, IA facility to troubleshoot and repair electronics returned from customer sites. You will analyze failures, perform root-cause analysis, and repair a range of Musco products with tight tolerances.

Responsibilities include data collection, mentoring technicians, and assisting with test fixtures, protocols, and design feedback. Strong soldering skills and experience with test equipment are required.

Qualifications

Associate degree or military electronics training required.
Five years of component-level troubleshooting and repair experience.
Experience soldering fine-pitch SMT and through-hole PCB assemblies.
Experience with microprocessor- / microcontroller-based products.
Experience with analog circuit troubleshooting and repair.
Soldering certification preferred but not required.
Ability to troubleshoot circuits to component level using schematics and test equipment.
Ability to solder through-hole and fine-pitch SMT components.
Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot failures and perform root-cause analysis and repairs on Musco electronic products returned from customer facilities.
Collect repair data and maintain the repair database.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced technicians.
Assist with designing, constructing, and maintaining test fixtures and systems including hardware, software, and mechanical activities.
Help develop and document troubleshooting protocols.
Provide feedback to product developers for design corrections and enhancements.
