Coherent Corp. in Fremont, CA seeks a Development Engineering Leader to oversee mechanical design and integration for test, assembly and characterization equipment used with high‑power CW lasers and related optics.

This role collaborates with R&D, manufacturing and logistics to optimize performance and ensure on‑time delivery. The position requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of industrial experience in engineering development, ideally in automated semiconductor

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
• At minimum 5 years of industrial experience in engineering development.
• Experience with automated semiconductor production or test/measurement equipment preferred.
• Hands-on experience in semiconductor laser test instrumentation and system design highly desired.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the mechanical engineering design and integration for test, assembly, and characterization equipment for high-power CW lasers, high-speed PD, and co-packaged optics.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, Fremont product engineering and logistics teams to optimize performance.
• Work with Fremont Product Engineers, Design, Planning and Logistics to ensure quality product on time delivery.
