Job summary

Hypertherm, Lebanon, NH, seeks a Senior Electronics Maintenance Technician to join the Light Industrial Team. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize industrial electrical and automation systems while mentoring technicians and supporting equipment improvements across manufacturing operations.

You will lead root-cause analysis, collaborate with engineers and vendors, and contribute to safe, reliable production with strong technical documentation and hands-on guidance.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 12+ years of electronics, controls, automation, or maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, electronic, robotic, and automated equipment.
• Experience with robotic manufacturing equipment and highly automated production systems.
• Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for industrial controls, automation systems, robotics, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, controls, and automated equipment to component level.
• Lead equipment improvement and integration projects with documentation and cost analysis.
• Develop technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, troubleshooting guides, and operating procedures.
• Mentor and train maintenance team members through hands-on coaching and knowledge sharing.

Globally focused, we design, manufacture, and support the world's leading cutting solutions.Our Light Industrial Team is seeking a highly skilled, team-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Electronics Maintenance Technician.In this role, you will be a member of the Machinery Maintenance Team, working independently to provide expert consultative problem resolution and technical support to the business. You will leverage your extensive knowledge and experience in industrial electronics, controls, automation, and manufacturing systems to diagnose complex equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions that improve equipment reliability and performance.As a Senior Electronics Maintenance Technician, you will mentor and develop team members by sharing technical expertise, providing hands-on guidance, and supporting skill development across the maintenance organization. You will also contribute to equipment improvements, automation projects, and turnkey solutions that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and overall manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a technical subject matter expert for industrial controls, automation systems, robotics, and advanced troubleshooting.Investigate, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical, electronic, controls, and automated equipment to the component level.Conduct root cause failure analysis and implement solutions that improve equipment reliability and prevent recurring failures.Support the installation, commissioning, optimization, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, including robotic and CNC systems.Lead equipment improvement and integration projects, including documentation, cost analysis, and implementation support.Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, troubleshooting guides, and operating procedures.Mentor and train maintenance team members by providing hands-on technical coaching and knowledge sharing.Collaborate with production, engineering, suppliers, and contractors to resolve technical issues and implement equipment improvements.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction.Research, specify, and procure components and replacement solutions for equipment repairs, upgrades, and obsolete systems.Required knowledge, skills, education, and experience18 years of age or older.Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, equivalent military training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.12+ years of electronics, controls, automation, or maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, electronic, robotic, and automated manufacturing equipment.Experience supporting robotic manufacturing equipment and highly automated production systems.Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 79, and applicable electrical and machinery safety standards.Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance to other technicians.Preferred experience that differentiates you15+ years of experience serving as a recognized senior technical resource for industrial automation, controls, robotics, and manufacturing systems.Experience troubleshooting, programming, integrating, and supporting multiple robotic platforms including FANUC, Epson, Stäubli, and/or Universal Robots (UR).Experience with PLC programming, machine vision systems, industrial networking, advanced machine communications, and CNC integration.Experience leading complex automation upgrades, equipment integrations, reliability improvements, or capital projects.Experience developing technical standards, troubleshooting methodologies, and maintenance strategies that improve equipment performance and reliability.Location: Lebanon, NHAdditional benefits in joining Hypertherm Associates:Collaborative, 100% employee-owned cultureProfit-Sharing and Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP)Five days/year paid Community Service TimeStrong commitment to Environmental StewardshipStable, growing organization with a no-layoff philosophy lasting over 50 yearsSponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization, or any other immigration-related support, is not available for this position at this time.Hypertherm Associates is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we welcome all applications.
