Job summary

Hypertherm Associates is seeking a newly graduated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Hanover, NH. You will develop expertise in subsystems for plasma and waterjet cutting systems and contribute to sustaining engineering through design changes.

You will lead cost-reduction efforts, analyze drawings and test data, and collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure reliability and safety of industrial equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0–5 years of mechanical design experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and analysis.
  • Experience using 3D CAD and engineering drawing tools to create parts and production-ready documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and assembly documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop subject-matter expertise in mechanical subsystems used within plasma and waterjet cutting systems and CNC equipment.
  • Maintain and support released products by implementing design changes and sustaining engineering.
  • Lead cost-reduction and product-improvement initiatives through design updates and testing.
  • Plan and execute hands-on laboratory and prototype testing, troubleshoot issues, and document results.

Mechanical EngineerHypertherm Associates , the world leader in industrial cutting solutions and a global, 100% Associate-owned company, is seeking a newly graduated Mechanical Engineer to join our team!As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:Develop subject-matter expertise in mechanical subsystems used within plasma and waterjet cutting systems, CNC equipment, and torch height control systemsMaintain and support released products by implementing mechanical design changes through sustaining engineering projects.
