RaisaHR is supporting a global defense technology manufacturer specializing in advanced protective and wearable systems in the search for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join its engineering team in Portsmouth, NH.
The Engineer will be a critical part of the team to design and build the next generation of smart protection products and bring new products to market. This person will have the opportunity to work on creating leading edge new capabilities by converging a number of innovative new technologies in small form factor wearables.
This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who wants to remain deeply technical and hands-on while also acting as a technical leader and mentor within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead electronics design throughout the product development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through prototyping, testing, and production.
- Design schematics, PCBAs, board layouts, routing, and interconnect solutions for compact electronic systems.
- Develop electronics for portable and wearable power, data, and computing systems.
- Integrate modern processing and compute technologies into small-form-factor products.
- Work with high-speed digital interfaces and signals, including MIPI and LVDS.
- Design and integrate embedded power supplies, power-management ICs (PMICs), communication circuits, and interfaces.
- Select components and develop detailed BOMs, interface control documents (ICDs), specifications, and technical documentation.
- Build, modify, troubleshoot, and test prototypes, including hands-on board-level work.
- Conduct electronics testing, analyze results, validate high-speed signals, and use findings to improve designs.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical and industrial design teams to define PCB form factors, materials, packaging, and interconnects.
- Work with PCBA manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, and other external engineering partners.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFx) activities to ensure designs can be manufactured reliably and cost-effectively.
- Review internal and external electronics designs and serve as a senior technical resource for electronics-related decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers and help establish electronics engineering best practices.
