Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA seeks a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join the Embedded Electronics group. You will develop hardware for next-generation processing, computing and sensor/actuator systems, translating requirements into robust architectures and prototypes.

The role requires hands-on PCB design, FPGA/MCU familiarity, mentoring of teammates, and the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams on sponsored and internal R&D programs. US government security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience crafting sophisticated electronic systems using FGPAs, processors, or SOCs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate project and system requirements into hardware architectures with cross-functional teams.
• Innovatively solve issues, drive completion of projects to schedule, and collaborate with other technical contributors.
• Build, debug, and test prototypes and deliverable hardware.
• Prepare documentation for manufacturing, and provide continuous support.
• Research and enable innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs.
• Engage other engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost effective end solutions for products.
• Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction and adapt to changing requirements.
• Independently perform complex electronic architectures and designs.
• Communicate status to project leadership and customers.
• Mentor less experienced teammates and support business development.
